What This Service Involves

When a pavement surface is worn but its base remains sound, an overlay is the cost-effective way to reset its service life. We prepare the surface, address failed areas, and place a new asphalt lift to a smooth, properly crowned profile. Grades are managed so the overlay drains to the gutter and does not bury curbs or trap water. Utility castings are adjusted to final grade so the finished surface rides true.

1) Inspect the surface and repair localized base failures; 2) Clean and tack the existing pavement; 3) Place and compact the overlay to grade; 4) Adjust castings and restore striping and markings

Best Time of Year

Overlays are a summer operation, scheduled when sustained dry, warm weather allows proper compaction and bonding.
